OurFamilyWizard to Apple Calendar
Your OurFamilyWizard calendar, on your iPhone.
OFWSync turns your OFW schedule into a calendar you subscribe to in Apple Calendar on iPhone, iPad or Mac. Parenting time, handoffs and events sit next to everything else in the Calendar app you already use, and change when OFW changes.

What shows up in Apple Calendar
- Parenting time All-day events named for whoever has the children overnight, like "With Dana". Or show the exact exchange times instead.
- Handoffs A short "Handoff to …" event at each mid-day exchange, so the pickup time is right there.
- Events Practices, appointments and school events, with their times, locations, notes and reminders.
It's read-only and one-way. We never post, message or change anything in OFW.
Set it up in about five minutes
You only do this once. After that, changes in OFW come through on their own.
- 1 Sign up for OFWSync, then enter your OurFamilyWizard email and password. We check them with OFW and start your first sync, which usually takes a minute or two.
- 2 Choose what comes across in Feed settings: parenting time, handoffs, events, or all three. Name each household and pick how far ahead to sync.
- 3 Open your OFWSync dashboard on your iPhone, iPad or Mac and choose Apple.
- 4 Tap Add to Apple Calendar, then Subscribe.
- 5 On a Mac, set Auto-refresh to Every hour, and choose iCloud as the location to see it on all your Apple devices.
- 6 If the button does nothing, copy your feed link and go to Settings → Apps → Calendar → Calendar Accounts → Add Account → Other → Add Subscribed Calendar, then paste it.
How fast changes show up
On Lite, we check OFW once a day; On Plus, we check OFW every hour. Compare plans
Apple Calendar checks subscribed calendars on a schedule you control. On a Mac, set the calendar's Auto-refresh to Every hour so it keeps up with Plus. iPhone and iPad check on their own.
Your OFW password, handled carefully
OurFamilyWizard has no way to give another app read-only access, so we sign in as you to read your calendar. Your password is encrypted before we store it and used for nothing else, and disconnecting deletes it straight away. How we protect your sign-in
Apple Calendar questions
Something else on your mind? Visit support.
- Will it show on my iPhone and my Mac?
- Subscribe on a Mac and set the location to iCloud, and it appears on every device signed in to your Apple Account. A calendar subscribed on an iPhone stays on that iPhone, so either add it on each device or add it once on a Mac.
- The Add to Apple Calendar button does nothing.
- Copy your feed link from the dashboard, then go to Settings → Apps → Calendar → Calendar Accounts → Add Account → Other → Add Subscribed Calendar and paste it.
- Do OFW reminders come through?
- Yes. Reminders set on OFW events come across, or you can choose your own or none in Feed settings. When subscribing on a Mac, untick Remove Alerts, or Calendar leaves them out.
- Can I edit the events on my iPhone?
- Subscribed calendars are read-only. Make the change in OFW and it comes through on the next sync.
Use a different calendar?
Any calendar app that can subscribe to a calendar by link works too.
